Adapted from the article "Gothic Lolita Days", EGL Bible Vol.4, pgs. 83-97, June 10, 2002.  (This article is an array of lolita tips from manners to home decor to media recommendations. I will translate it in chunks, due to sheer size. The first part I'm posting is the manners guide. This guide could be applied to non-Lolita's, so I find it interesting that they found it necessary to label it "for Lolitas".) Mana sama Selection

Adapted from the article "Mana (Malice Mizer) x Moi-Meme Moitié", EGL Bible Vol. 3, pg. 21, Jan. 10, 2002. (In this article, Mana gives recommendations for various media and grants a small interview. ) Video Count Dracula (Jesus Franco, 1970) This work is not part of the original Hammer Horror family, but the opening sound and image are cool, so I chose it. They have lovely faces, but they can also be “fallen angels”, making them more than a cute face. I think it shares the same feeling as Gothic Lolita. Spiritually, it’s an essential element of Gothic Lolita. B - Bustier Originally, it meant "long bra without shoulder straps" in French. In design, many are cut ho

Front Matter

As I continued my Japanese study, I realized I needed material that stimulated me, thus, I've started this blog as a location for all of my poorly translated EGL bible articles (amongst other odds and ends). To preface this blog with some warnings: I am far from fluent. A true amateur, but I'll try my best. All of these articles are posted for educational and criticism purposes only. These are old articles from out of print publications. References to where you can find the articles will be posted on every entry . If you are interested in reading them in Japanese or viewing the accompanying photos, please purchase the magazines referenced. The main focus will be "lifestyle" pieces, but I may throw some others in, if time permits. ~ID
